Your Employment Credit Score – Is Your Score Better Than Average?

Whether you are a recent graduate looking for your first job or a seasoned professional eager to further your career, you know that today’s job market is tougher than ever. Make sure that you not only have a clean background check as you seek for a new job, but that your credit score passes minimum requirements as well.

The sad fact is there are just simply more people than jobs in today’s economy. With a large pool to choose from, employers are pickier than ever when it comes to selecting their new hires. Unfortunately, having a polished resume and experience under your belt just isn’t enough anymore.

Did you know that many companies evaluating potential candidates weigh the applicant’s credit rating along with their credentials? For some companies checking your credit score has become a routine part of the hiring process.

An excellent job prospect with all the necessary qualifications might be turned down for a position because of their credit score and not even be aware of it! Some companies even use credit rating as a factor for determining who within the company is granted a raise or a promotion!

Employers often see your credit rating as being indicative of your character and work ethic. But a less than perfect credit score isn’t always indicative of lack of diligence in the workplace. Because, unfortunately, 2 out of 3 credit reports contain mistakes! Don’t let errors on your credit report overshadow your qualifications for the job!

Competitive edge is the name of the game, and knowing your credit score can give you the edge you need to better position yourself in today’s job market.
